The Amazing Benefits of Samadhi Yoga Nidra

The benefits of  Yoga Nidra are many.  Countless studies continue to be done researching the ways regular meditative practices, such as Yoga Nidra effect the mind and body.  Here are just a few benefits of a regular Yoga Nidra practice:

  • Decreases stress and tension through improved relaxation response in the brain by balancing sympathetic and parasympathetic brain waves.

  • Greater sense of calm through increased time in the alpha brain wave state.

  • Helps to support Post Traumatic Growth

  • Improves ability to focus and think clearly.

  • It is said that one hour of Yoga Nidra is worth 3-4 hours of deep sleep.

  • Decreased depression and anxiety due to increased levels of serotonin.

  • Improved heart coherence

  • Lower blood pressure and cholesterol

  • Lessens blood glucose fluctuations associated with diabetes.

  • The National Institute of Health recently declared that practices such as Yoga Nidra can help people lose more than twice the amount of fat than a regular yoga asana class, due to the fact that cortisol levels are greatly reduced in this restorative practice.

  • ... All this from laying down and meditating!!
